It was that perfect daze in that perfect gaze / It was trouble from the start / It nearly broke my heart / I hadn’t spoke two words / Then we sang/We only spoke few words / The words were enough to make my heart skip a beat as I fell apart / Then we only seemed to get out a crooked smile / It’s not good enough / It’s never good enough
Then they all said that these words should come so easy / that little number she did that trick to me / They sang words that can’t compare / To the feeling of her heartbeat and that perfect stare
I guess this is a feeling of a fall / I guess this is the feeling of it all
When we spoke the poet died but the words still showed / that we only need to get out of this town alive / It’s not good enough for the both of us / We’re cursed with a four letter word / We never seem ready / For that perfect storm
that comes without warning / Then the tides pass by with another way to try / That perfect song tonight
Then they all said that these words should come so easy / that little number she did that trick to me / They sang words that can’t compare / To the feeling of her heartbeat and that perfect stare
I guess this is a feeling of a fall / I guess this is the feeling of it all
The more and more I try to get you out of my mind /I know you’ll always stay / And even though I try to make you all mine / I know you’ll always walk away / Even though we try / That perfect storm will kill a thousand in its wake

Been following Somos for many years, feeling that they had an opus in them...well, here it is. Driving pop-punk sensibilities lend an upbeat tone in contrast to the grim lyrical proceedings, and they absolutely pull it off. Evocative music that's been on repeat for me all month long. RIP, Phil PaintedDogs
